I have always had a love of dogs. Having grown up with horses and competed very successfully for most of my life, I was in need of a change of pace. So it was only a matter of time till I discovered the wonderful world of Show Dogs.
Over the past ten years I have been lucky to be involved with some wonderful people and some sensational dogs from many different breeds, including Afghan Hounds, Bichon Frise, Borzoi, Boxers, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Irish Setters, Rhodesian Ridgebacks and now English Pointers. I was first introduced to this wonderful breed after searching for a short coated breed that fitted in with my busy lifestyle, and that was it - I was hooked! HUGE thanks to Colleen Dewson (Arista Pointers) for fueling this passion, by allowing me the pleasure of showing Shelsea, who started my obsession. There is however, another half to this kennel; my husband James. Born in South Africa, into a family of dog enthusiasts, even at an early age he was surrounded with the Champion Boxers & Labradors bred by his parents and their mentor. So there was no surprise when I first mentioned dog showing, that he rolled his eyes in disbelief that after all this time he had fallen for crazy dog show person!! After living in London for 8 years, before moving to Australia, he has needless to say become an integral part of Aspyre's future. He has recently stepped back in the ring with his true love Boxers, and we thank Lloyd Harrison (Valeska Boxers - NZ) for sending us such a lovely girl to start with. We look forward to adding more boxers to our team in the near future. |

Our aim is to produce quality pointers from proven lines, with a focus on maintaining correct breed type, sound temperaments and working ability. Our dogs combine some of the very best bloodlines Australia and the world have to offer, with a strong English influence.
We have been lucky enough to secure frozen semen from a selection of dogs from around the world, and we are sure that they will prove very instrumental in our future success. All our dogs come from carefully selected lines and are DNA profiled, health tested and hip scored before breeding. Health testing is not yet mandatory in Pointers, we however choose to do so. This screening allows us to make informed decisions in regards to our breeding programme, and helps us produce what we hope will be healthy, happy puppies. We are enjoying our time as custodians of this majestic breed, and look forward to what the future holds. |
