It all started when many years ago I was given the opportunity to campaign Aust Ch. Arista Shelsea True (Imp NZ) to her Australian Championship. Shelsea is a lovely feminine girl and is proudly bred & owned by Colleen Dewson of Arista Kennels.
Many thanks go to Colleen for fuelling my passion for pointers. Shortly after Shelsea gained her title, our family was joined by Aust Ch. Sgurr Fly’n Mystical Charm (Imp NZ) aka Lacey. Lacey is a BEST IN GROUP & Runner Up in Group winner, as well as achieving numerous Class in Group & In Show awards. She is a consistent winner under International judges, as well as Gundog & Pointer Specialists. We are obviously very proud of our girl, and she will still take her turn in the limelight for many years to come. Not long after the arrival of Lacey, I was lucky enough to secure her mother BIS Aust & NZ Gr Ch. Chesterhope Fly’n’ Free at Sgurr (aka Lexi) for her Australian show campaign. The partnership of Lexi and myself proved to be very successful gaining her Australian Championship in only 7weeks! She finished in brilliant style with BEST IN SHOW at the Canberra Autumn International Festival under International Gundog specialist Mrs Honey Glendinning (Canada). We would like to thank Kathleen Andrews & Fiona Scott from Sgurr Kennels - NZ for sending us our precious 'charm' Lacey and allowing us to have the opportunity to campaign Lexi. We wish them much success for the future. In 2008 my beloved Aust Ch. Robwyn Dare to Dream (Morgan) joined the family. Morgan was a much anticipated arrival and will help to cement the foundations that we have already laid. With her outstanding personality, lovely outline and a pedigree that is designed to ensure success, we are sure that Morgan will bring us much success for many years to come. Now an Australian Show Champion we will spend time focusing on her Obedience career. HUGE Thanks to Paul Robinson (Robwyn Pointers - NZ) for allowing Morgan to join our team!! 2009 saw the arrival of our first litter from Lacey to the handsome Aust. Ch Rhyll Luskintyre (aka Perry). A few of exciting puppies have been retained in partnership from this litter including, Flirt - Aspyre Flyin With Luv To Tomlow (Exp UK) (co-owned with Karen Sillince) Kite - Aspyre With Flyin Colours (co-owned with Ashleigh Barber) Poppin - Aspyre Flyin High (co-owned with Portia James) Their brother Winston (AUST CH Aspyre Flyin Without Wings) is owned, loved and spoilt by Karen, James & Liam Mackenzie-Smith of Whitford Park. We wish them every success with this amazing young man, we are sure he will turn quite a few heads!! We look forward to seeing these kids flyin around the ring for a long time to come. 2009 also saw the long anticipated arrival of Karma (Aust CH Tomlow Aspyreations - Imp UK). This lovely pommy lass has only just arrived and we hope that she will prove to be as successful as her her heritage. Her mother Fugue, Tomlow Night And Day was BEST OF BREED at CRUFTS 2010 and her father Darcy (Hawkfield Dapper In Black) is a Multi RUBISS winner as well as the holder of 2CC's. In 2010 we were joined by Huan (Hyborn Hid'n-Mr E of Aspyre - Imp NZ), another kiwi from Simone Simpson's Hyborn Pointers. We were very pleased to have this young man join us here in Oz. We look forward to watching him develop and see what he can acheive in the show & obedience areans. Thanks his co-owner Lynne Donley for taking such good care of him for us. Our second litter arrived in May 2010, and our TWO litter from Islay (Rhyll Toe to Toe). The FOUR pups shown to date are already MULTI CLASS IN GROUP WINNERS!! Phoebe - Aspyre Two Step On Ur Toes Audrey - Aspyre Two Ruffle Ur Feathers (co-owned with Ashleigh Barber) Frank - Aspyre Two Be Quite Frank (co-owned with Andy Parkes & Kristy Hiles) Kenzie - Aspyre Miss Goody Two Shoes (owned by Hollie & Ben Clarke - Zensu Pointers) 2011 has so far been a year for new and exciting things... with our move to Melbourne, new house purchase and new additions set to arrive shortly!! Recently Vogue (Whitford Pak Shaken Not Stired) joined the family. She is our first "Aspyre Grandpup" and we would like to thank James & Karen MacKenzie-Smith (Whitford Park) for letting her join our family. Keep an eye out for her in the ring shortly. We are quite excited about our future here at Aspyre, with more exciting plans to come, including a few new faces set to join our team shortly. Check back for details soon. |
